MÈRE MARIE
DIALOGUES DES CARMÉLITES
The Juilliard School, 2025
"Sometimes one hears Mère Marie vocalized as a character part, but Anna Kelly outshone some mightily gifted colleagues in sheer beauty of sound."
"the convent MVP may well have been Anna Kelly’s Mère Marie, whose deliciously smooth and clear mezzo soprano made a vow of martyrdom sound dangerously refreshing."
"Mother Marie of the Incarnation [was] well sung and acted by mezzo-soprano Anna Kelly."
“Mezzo Anna Kelly, as Mother Marie of the Incarnation…after the death of the Old Prioress, as the character takes on newly found authority, [became] commanding and her vocalism more assured.”
3RD PLACE WINNER, ART SONG
GERDA LISSNER WINNERS CONCERT
Zankel Hall, Carnegie Hall, 2024
"Third place winner in the Lieder/Song Vocal Competition, Anna Kelly, sang songs by Edvard Grieg and Joseph Marx that displayed her warm voice."
"Mezzo-soprano Anna Kelly employed a sweet tone and personal charm in a Joseph Marx lied entitled "Jugend und Alter".
DORABELLA
COSÌ FAN TUTTE
OPERA SARATOGA, 2024
"Marvelous singing from a young ensemble cast in a clever and quick paced staging of Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte” made for an enjoyable and touching opening night for Opera Saratoga...Mezzo-soprano Anna Kelly was a lively Dorabella, sister and side kick to Fiordiligi. Both characters freely indulged in what might be called the female gaze, commenting and scoring men on their look and build."
Joseph Dalton, Times Union
"Anna Kelly sang best Dorabella's indignation and anguish, perhaps because these moments allowed her to make full use of her impressive upper range. Here too was she the perfect ingenue, all-too-primed for Guglielmo's flirtations."
Evan Berkowitz, Berkshire Eagle
ALTO SOLOIST
LORD NELSON MASS
New England Symphonic Ensemble, 2024
"Mezzo Anna Kelly was ever vital to the musical texture, but was especially notable as a soloist in the Agnus Dei...The quartet of soloists was in full bloom as an ensemble by the Benedictus, and the Dona Nobis Pacem concluded the mass with a brilliant sound and hopeful spirit. Bravi tutti!"
CENDRILLON
CENDRILLON
PALM BEACH OPERA, 2022
"Mezzo-soprano Anna Kelly was divine in her scene as Cendrillon. She communicated a strong, but coquettish character, and... produced a solid scene with perfect chemistry and beautiful voices. Brown’s mellow tones and versatility in how she moved as Le Prince on stage provided perfect counterpoint to Kelly, who glided in a large skirt, appropriate for a princess. This version of Massenet’s “Cendrillon” could be a full production, but only if Kelly and Brown are the leads."
